Dancing Stories 2026: 'Legends Reborn'
This year, the stage comes alive with the most fascinating myths and legends from around the world. From the deities of Ancient Greece and the fables of the East, to modern urban legends, teams are invited to tell their own story through dance.
Feel free to use props, video projections, and stage elements to create a vivid, living story that will transport us into the myth you choose to portray.
Strong dramaturgy, immersive atmosphere, and captivating storytelling through movement.
Here’s your chance to showcase your work! One of our most creative categories, designed for those who love a challenge.
Depending on the dance style, your performance will be scheduled for Saturday or Sunday, according to the event program

Όλοι Μαζί στη Σκηνή:
Η Μαγεία του Ζειμπέκικου σε μικτη κατηγορια Ερασιτεχνικού Χορού. Ο Ζειμπέκικος χορός είναι μια γλώσσα χωρίς περιορισμούς. Δεν απαιτεί επαγγελματική εμπειρία ή χρόνια εντατικής προπόνησης—απλά το πάθος για την κίνηση. Και πουθενά δεν είναι αυτό πιο εμφανές από ό,τι στην κατηγορία που απευθύνεται σε μικτούς ερασιτέχνες χορευτές.
Είτε είστε ένας εντελώς αρχάριος με ευκολία στο συγχρονισμό, είτε ένας πιο έμπειρος ερασιτέχνης που αναζητά νέες χορογραφικές προκλήσεις, ο χώρος αυτός σας ανήκει.
- Προτεραιότητα στη Χαρά, όχι στην Τελειότητα: Ο στόχος είναι η κίνηση και η διασκέδαση, όχι η άψογη εκτέλεση.
Η μικτή ερασιτεχνική κατηγορία δεν είναι απλώς μια κατηγορία—είναι μια φιλοσοφία. Είναι η δέσμευση του Kalamatadancecup 2025 να μαθαίνουμε όχι μόνο πώς να χορεύουμε, αλλά πώς να χορεύουμε όλοι μαζί. Ειδικοί Κανόνες για την Κατηγορία Χορού Ένστικτο!
- Οι συμμετέχοντες δεν πρέπει να ακολουθούν ειδικά σχεδιασμένο πρόγραμμα χορού σε σχολή χορού.
- Οι προχωρημένες χορογραφίες αποκλείονται αμέσως.
- Επιτρέπονται μικτές ηλικιακές κατηγορίες.
- Διάρκεια Τραγουδιού 1:30 -1:40, η οποία παρέχεται από τον Διοργανωτή.
Pro-Am Latin Scholarship 2026=
To be eligible for the Scholarship and Rising Star Scholarship competitions, the couple MUST dance and register for Single Dances in the same dance styleThey wish to dance in the Scholarship or Rising Star competition - (Standard, Latin American Rhythm - 5 Single dance; American Smooth)

Greek Solo Ranking
- Greek Solo Ranking for all solo dancers in all styles. to highlight the best solo athlete of each year, in the Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Latin categories.
- Grades. Athletes earn points from each competition they participate in, and the 4 best scores of the year (calendar year) will be counted towards the final total.
- Star System. The first in the ranking is considered a "star" and passes the first round of the competitions without dancing (provided that the category has at least 15 entries). If the first one does not participate, the second or third one is considered the "star" (in order of priority)
- Participants are encouraged to cheer on their teammates, sing their school songs, dress in costume, and wave banners in the air.
- The winning Team will receive a KDC Special Award and Greek Solo Ranking points!
Team Match
Team Match @: Kalamata International Dance Competition
The Team Match is a competitive event designed for school-based teams to compete against one another in a fun, high-energy environment.
Event Structure
- Categories: The match is divided into two distinct events: Rookie and Champ.
- Team Entry: Each participating school may enter one Rookie Team and one Champ Team.
- Dancer Restriction: Individual dancers are permitted to compete in only one of the two events.
- Format: Each event consists of 4 dances, performed by 4 unique couples (a total of 8 individual dancers).
Spirit and Awards
- Competitor Spirit: Dancers are actively encouraged to show team spirit by cheering, wearing costumes, and waving banners.
- Recognition: The team that exhibits the most points may win a KDC Special Award and receive Greek Solo Ranking points.
OVERALL WINNER
All dance teams are welcome to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Every team participating in any group category (such as Contemporary Dance, Hip Hop, Street, Commercial, and more) is automatically entered into the Overall Winner ranking.
The title of Overall Winner goes to the team with the highest score in their dance style, regardless of age division or number of dancers in the group.
