Pro-Am combines professional instruction
with the excitement of competitive performance.
A professional dance instructor partners
with a student for competitions or shows,
creating a focused teacher-student partnership
built around technique, performance and progress.
The format is similar in structure to the
popular BBC show
Strictly Come Dancing,
where a professional dancer guides a partner
through performance and competition.
An additional Teacher-Student division gives
amateur instructors the opportunity to compete
alongside their students.
Pro-Am removes the challenge of finding a
compatible partner and gives students direct
access to professional guidance, structured
training and competitive experience.
Dancing with a professional teacher can
accelerate your development through direct
guidance in technique, timing, musicality
and performance — without the need to find
a compatible dance partner.
Pro-Am is a glamorous and highly enjoyable
experience, combining the energy of competition
with social interaction, entertainment and
the excitement of performing on stage.
This year, KDC is revolutionizing its
Pro-Am category by introducing a more
affordable and equitable entry fee for students.
The new pricing structure is designed to
make it easier for students to participate
in multiple entries and enjoy more of the
competition experience.
The following fees apply to the student only.

The
Pro-Am 3-Dance or 5-Dance Scholarship Competition
is designed to test the complete competitive
partnership.
Each Pro-Am couple must dance all three or
five dances of the selected event consecutively.

Samba • Cha-Cha • Rumba
The ranking of the
couples
,
not simply the students,
is determined by tabulation of the marks
awarded by all judges across all dances.
The
3-Dance or 5-Dance Open Scholarship
represents the highest level of
Pro-Am competition.
To be eligible for the Scholarship or
Rising Star Scholarship competitions,
the couple
MUST dance and register for Single Dances
in the same dance style
they wish to dance in the Scholarship
or Rising Star competition.
