A new celebration of fundamental Latin dancing
At the 8th International Kalamata Dance Cup 2026, we introduce Closed Choreography Exhibitions in the final rounds of the specified Latin American competitions. The aim is to celebrate technical quality, musicality and authentic dance fundamentals—not choreographic complexity.
Who must prepare a Closed Choreography Exhibition?
All finalists in Youth and Adult Solo and Couples competitions in the Latin American discipline. This requirement applies to every final round within these specified categories.
What is a Closed Choreography Exhibition?
It is a short presentation of fundamental Latin American dancing. Athletes may freely select recognized steps and figures from the Bronze, Silver or Gold syllabus levels. They may use individual figures, repeat steps, combine figures from different levels, or arrange them into a small exhibition choreography.
Freedom within the fundamentals
- Choose figures from Bronze, Silver and Gold.
- Mix figures from different levels.
- Repeat any selected step or combination.
- Present a simple sequence or short choreography.
- Keep the movement within recognized syllabus material and fundamental Latin American technique.
What matters most?
- Correct technique and body action
- Rhythm, timing and musicality
- Balance and coordination
- Movement quality and control
- Clarity and precision of execution
No elaborate or difficult choreography is required.
For dance schools and coaches
Please inform your Youth and Adult Latin American Solo and Couples competitors and prepare an appropriate fundamental sequence for their finals. A well-executed combination of basic figures is entirely suitable. The exhibition should respect the applicable syllabus figures and technical principles.
This announcement defines the choreography concept and affected categories. Detailed operational arrangements, including exhibition duration and assessment procedure, should be followed as published in the official competition instructions.

Ποιους αφορά η νέα απαίτηση;
Τι είναι η Παρουσίαση Κλειστής Χορογραφίας;
Τι έχει πραγματική σημασία;
