Kalamata as a location is the ‘City of Dance’ for the International Dance Cup. The Kalamata Dance Cup - Beyond Limits is a real Dance Challenge for Kalamata and makes the Messinian capital the ‘meeting center’ of the DanceSport Community worldwide.

Modern trends want tourists to increasingly turn to alternative forms of tourism in search of a different and specialized experience, as opposed to mass tourism. This contributes to the development of cultural tourism and more specifically of 'dance tourism' in Kalamata, a multidimensional tourist product.
