  • Few words About Zumba®

Zumba®  is a fitness program that involves cardio and Latin-inspired dance. It was founded by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Pérez in 2001 and in 2012, it called itself the largest international branded fitness program in the world. Zumba®  is a trademark owned by Zumba Fitness, LLC.

How It Works

We take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.

A Zumba® Marathon event is a Zumba® dance-fitness party for a cause!

The mission of Zumba Love is to foster charitable initiatives that raise funds and awareness for important causes, and to celebrate the joy of giving through dance, fitness, friendship and love. Powered by the energy and passion of our Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™) and Zumba fans worldwide.

More than 30 certified Zumba® instructors (ZIN™) from all over the Greece will be on the specially designed stage of city sport center TENTA to coordinate and lead dance lovers, of all ages and regardless of physical condition, to a frantic 3-hour party.

Come to Zumba® Marathon, even if you haven’t done any Zumba before or you don’t think you’re fit enough. Zumba is an exercise where you don’t have to push yourself if you don’t want to. If you find it difficult, just go lower. Like any exercise, just do what you can. You don’t have to follow the steps exactly – We are people of different shapes and ages. You can start slowly if needed, or you can dance your heart out if you are in great shape. At the end of the day, you’re doing a good workout for yourself. Who cares if anyone is better than you?

It’s a blast and you’ll really enjoy it, even if it’s only for a short time. It’s a nice atmosphere and good for your interior as well as your exterior. Just join in and move for a good cause!

  • Equipment: You don’t need any special equipment! 
  • Shoes: You don't need anything to do Zumba® except for some upbeat music and supportive footwear. Your regular gym shoes are just fine, but if you really want proper Zumba attire, there are Zumba® shoes specifically designed for hardwood floor dancing. No matter what shoes you choose, they should have adequate ankle support and a flexible sole as you will be dancing on your toes and the balls of your feet the majority of the time.
  • Clothing: Comfortable as possible. That means wearing items that will allow you to move freely while boosting your self-confidence. You can wear traditional sports clothing. There’s also a range of colorful clothing available in the Zumba® Wear.

A sweat towel and water bottle are must-have items

Will probably sweat more than you have in a long time. It is good to have a towel to mop it up. It’s also essential to keep hydrated, as you will be sweating a lot.
